WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF STUDYING ABROAD AT A BOARDING OR DAY SCHOOL?
Capstone Vietnam has consulted with a lot of parents, so we understand their concerns and worries in the process of seeking information about studying abroad for their children. However, we believe that starting your investment when your children are still in high school is the right move for many, and helpful, if you want to build a long-term study path that can lead to top international universities and colleges. Below are some benefits of an overseas study experience at the high school level:
Overseas boarding and day schools make significant investments in facilities. Beside the basic foundations to facilitate student’s learning such as libraries and laboratories, the campuses also have superb athletic facilities, not to mention high-quality dining services. The schools provide a comprehensive curriculum with a wide variety of subjects, and also help students acquire skills to succeed in higher education. Programs are designed to help students cultivate their interests, develop their talents, and realize their potential.
Study abroad at a younger age gives students a lot more time to improve their English as well as to adapt to and catch up with the curriculum and prepare for higher education. The teachers and counselors also offer their full support for international students. Starting a new life in a strange country at this age will help them become more independent, teaching them how to take care of themselves and be more self-sufficient.
In Vietnam, the traditional method of teaching and learning is teacher-centered, where teachers lecture and students write down things and learn them by heart. Meanwhile, in other education systems, student have to use their abilities to search for and analyze information, and debate.. Therefore, the earlier students become accustomed to new learning methods, the better preparation for college.
Students are provided extensive guidance and counseling by teachers and other staff to help be success in all aspects of their life and to be prepared for higher education. Graduates of overseas high schools have certain advantages applying to domestic universities because they have a solid knowledge and skills to grow in a much larger and more competitive environment.
