Capstone Vietnam cordially invites you to participate in its annual spring StudyUSA & Canada Higher Education Flex-Fairs that include five (5) cities in all three regions of Viet Nam, including key primary and secondary markets. Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we will continue to offer the additional participation options, including surrogate and online. 

While the situation in Viet Nam is normal, thanks to the proactive efforts of the government and the cooperation of the people, we realize that many colleagues will not be able to travel internationally in the short terms. 

Viet Nam continues to be a key sending country for both countries.  As of January 2020, it ranked 6th among all places of origin with 29,976 students at all levels - just 11 students behind Brazil. In Canada, Viet Nam retained its 5th place ranking in 2019 with 21,595 students. 

While overall demand has decreased in the current academic year for reasons you’re all familiar with, e.g., parent and student concerns about COVID-19, financial constraints, in some cases, and host country limitations, there is still strong interest in overseas study. Canada and the USA remain among the top five preferred overseas study destinations. Looking ahead to fall 2021, this is still a great time to begin, or continue, your recruiting efforts in this dynamic market. 

Surrogate and Virtual Participation Options: Since regular representation will probably not be possible in spring 2021, here are some other options for you to consider:   

1)  A currently enrolled student who is studying online in Viet Nam*;
2) Parents of a currently enrolled student or recent graduate;
3)  In country alumni or faculty*; and
4)  Online participation with the assistance of a student volunteer*    
* Same cost as regular participation, plus any relevant domestic travel expenses

Fair Benefits 

In spite of the flurry of online activity, offline fairs are a great way to introduce your institution to students and parents in different parts of the country who are eager for information about study opportunities in Canada and the U.S.  It is often the connection you or your representative make with a student or parent that convinces them to choose your institution over others.  (This includes juniors and sophomores who will not be applying for overseas study for another year or two.) In addition to the fairs, representatives are strongly encouraged to participate in the related high school visits and other activities. 

These fairs benefit both Vietnamese students and their parents and Canadian/US higher education representatives in the following ways:

For colleges and universities

  • An opportunity to meet serious prospective students and their parents who are interested in gaining admission to an intensive English, undergraduate or graduate program (Note: Viet Nam is primarily an undergraduate market.);

  • A chance to create or expand brand awareness via the extensive pre-event marketing and the fairs themselves for your institution in Viet Nam;

  • An opportunity to participate in mini-fairs at selected public, private, and international high schools in Hanoi, Danang, Nha Trang, & HCMC; and
